ambient light for certain 3D objects
« on: November 10, 2007, 01:05:45 PM »

Hi!

It would be nice to have an "ambient-light" for a certain object (3d-actor), so that 3D objects fit better in the 2D rendered scenes.

Bye,
Oli

Ambient light for the scene is not enough?

An ambient light for an individual 3D object would be great, because then you could adjust the lighting so that the object fits in the rendered scene. I´ve got dark and light areas in the scene and by using the scene-ambient light the objects look rather odd.

I would not do this for the objects, but for scene regions. so if you put an object from the dark corner of a scene to a bight place, the region you put it to determines how much it's lit up.

Yup, sounds like a good idea to me. Sort of a primitive lighting without actually using lights.

Thanks for the idea, but i don´t think that will work for me.

Say I´ve got a main character that walks from a dark area to a light one then this method works beautifully.

But I want to have my character lit with one ambient light and say an oil barrel (3D object) in a dark corner of the scene lit by another ambient light.
