Video editing
« on: May 30, 2009, 02:27:27 PM »

Hi there, I am still working on my game and I'd like to put some (extremely simple) cutscenes in it.
Is there any free/open source video editing software (like Adobe Premiere)?
I am currently using only free software and I'd like to continue this way :) I am currently using Synfig Studio and Pencil for animations, Audacity for sound editing, Inkscape for backgrounds and GraphicsGale for icons, cursors and objects.
I checked both the Starving Developer's Guide and the internet, but no luck.

Any idea?
Thanks!

I use the Blender sequencer.

Can be a little scary but this tutorial should put you on the right track:

Or you can check the docs:

http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:Manual/Sequencer

good luck

Thanks joaomesq, it actually looks quite scary but I'll give it a try :)
If anyone does know an easier video editing software, feel free to post.

Thanks again!

If you just need cutting / fading / audio, then you can also give microsoft movie maker a try. For the mentioned things its really really easy to use, and it's no problem to convert the output to theora.
