Not a bug / Re: actor looks different in project manager and in engine
« on: October 13, 2007, 02:10:06 PM »
This could be a problem of the texture. On some system configs this strange behaviour can happen, if the texture is not sized to fit a power of 2. We had this with one of our actors.

Just a suggestion.

« on: October 09, 2007, 12:03:13 PM »
Hey guys and girls,

erm, has anybody an idea how to create something like a thirty day trial version with the help of WME? In our particular case we want to make our current stable version make run only for thirty days after installing.
Please do not ask why.

Thanks for upcoming help.

Damn it. All that CP stuff seems like chosing between pest and cholera.

@Odnorf: I have nearly the same opinion, but I am neither the boss nor the one who decides what to do, just collecting infos.

Thanks anyway. Mnemonic, you can close the thread.

Thanks Sychron. The german version was not very different from the english version and gave both a very negative view to starforce. I am still looking around. At least there is no "death proof" copy protection out there but we want to secure our product as good as possible.

Hi there!

I've read in this thread http://forum.dead-code.org/index.php?topic=1692.0 that starforce is supported by WME since version 1.4
How is the current status? Which version is supported? Has anybody worked with it and how will it be if the game ships on more than one disk? In our case it will be 2 DVD's (very large WME project imho).

Thanks for upcoming answers.

Cheers

Ok, solved it. The drivers were not the latest. So it is not a bug.

You can simply check it in the scene editor. Or did I miss something?

OK, drivers from 2007 have been installed, but the problem remains. I love problems like this. As usual: No way to reproduce it. We install a version an our new Laptop, lets see if it occurs there, too. If not it is time for a hint in our readme  :-[

I am highly impressed meta and nihil, for doing all this in your sparetime. And I am glad you have chosen the PDF way. Once because of the fast updates and for keeping your personal risk at level zero.

Thats all I got to say

Hi Synchron,

you get me wrong, or do not understand what the idea behind is. At least I believe that. The thing is, when creating a beta and fixing numerous alpha staged errors for the testers it is very helpfull when you just need to compile the fixed package, copy it to the server and a fixed version is available for the testers. I do not talk about patches, I talk about getting into beta phase.
