Title: Some thoughts about the Wii
Post by: Spellbreaker on August 12, 2009, 01:54:22 PM
Hey there!

Does anyone of you have experience with Wii Homebrew Software? How Hard would it be to port a Game to Wii ( beside the extraordinary price for a Nintendo Development Kit I guess ;)...

Hi
Actually homebrew development on Wii and Nintendo DS is pretty easy.
There are many development tools, libraries, tutorials, games, etc...
And best of all: everything is for free and you do not need any special hardware [like chip] and it's legal!

I recommend wiibrew.org (http://wiibrew.org) , it's probably the best wii-homebrew-development related site

I personally developed game for Wii in several weeks - http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Quadrax (http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Quadrax) - it's a port of PC game based on SDL.
