Title: Can I recover resources from a compiled game?
Post by: Blue_D on February 07, 2004, 12:23:31 AM
Is there anything I can do to recover an actor I used in an early version of a game I compiled?

In an hard disk crash I've lost the original materials, survived only the compiled game.

Is it possible to extract the sprites or images?

Yes, it's possible, but for obvious reasons this option is not directly available. It is possible to extract everything except scripts. The scripts are compiled to a bytecode and it wouldn't be exactly easy to convert them back to a human-readable form.

I think the more safe way, is to send Mnemonic the compiled game ;)

How big is the file? Could you upload it somewhere?
