Well, I can only think of one game which changed name/graphics, Kronolog/Red Hell. But it 1)sucked  2)doesn't fit the rest of your description.

Ok, so the actual score is:

Mnemonic(3), McCoy(2), odnorf(1) (I suggest that everytime a new question starts, the person who post it has to write the score...)

Well, here it goes:

In this game, the main character only says 3 sentences in ALL of the game.

It's an adventure game, of course.

And, because I'm jealous of odnorf, you'll have to tell me the name of the game AND the 3 sentences the main character uses.

It's "The Terminator - adventure game edition" and those three sentences are "I need your clothes", "I'll be back" and "Fu*k you asshole" ;)

Ok, just kidding. I probably didn't play the game, because for me adventure game = rich dialogues (or at least rich monologues). Neverhood comes to my mind, but I suppose Clayman didn't say even a single sentence.

It's a really long shot but two games I can think are "Myst" and "Alone in the dark".
