shadow for 2d characters?

Can i use a shadow for my 2d character?  ???

You can, but you have to paint it. Then you have several options:

1) make the shadow part of your character images (you can use the alpha channel to make the shadow semi-transparent).
2) Use some generic shadow image and add it as a subframe to your character's animations in SpriteEdit.
3) Use some generic shadow image and attach it to your actor using the actor.AddAttachment() method.
