Is there a way of generating the GDF file used in Wintermute to take advantages of the changes and additions implemented in the new Games Explorer of Windows 7?

I don't know what additions are there in Win7, but the GDF file is an XML file, which you can edit either manually or using the Microsoft's tool. When you compile the game in ProjectMan, the GDF file gets injected into game exe file. So WME doesn't really care what the file contains, it's just a carrier.
