I'm only halfway through yet, but it's VERY cool so far! Especially the wise worms rock ;-)

May I ask how much of the filesize is eaten up by the voice overs?

Oh, I overlooked the .geometry-stuff .... hm, then I'm out of ideas, sorry.

Note: I'm anything but an expert for stencil shadows ;-)

For using the shadows, you need the expanded hidden geometry, I think the shadow-catching objects must be named shadow_name (like walk_ and blk_ ). In SceneEdit you can see them by activating "Display Scene Geometry", and the "shadow-catchers" should appear in green.

At least that is how I understood it by reading the documentation and looking at the 3d-demo - I never really tried it myself as I don't use 3d characters atm.

Hmmm .... and the shadow-parts of the geometry appear in SceneEdit, too?

Did you enable the stencil-shadows in SceneEdit, too? (under 3d-options)

If I remember correctly the 3d-Demo uses scrolling credits ( I think the scene was also called Credits, there you should find the code).

It's the first link in his post, maybe you need to reload the page?

The last bracket is missing, maybe that causes the error?

If not, can you perhaps upload the project somewhere so that we can have a look at the code?

Did you try to put PARENT_NOTIFY = TRUE in the button-definition?

edit: Sorry, typo ;-)

Maybe we should reduce the expectations and declare everyone as a winner who actually enters the competition and delivers a template ;-)

Or - let the uses vote the best one after all templates are online.

Sounds like a pretty good idea to me!

Technical forum / Re: Normals on 3D character are inverted!!
« on: June 03, 2007, 10:30:41 PM »
Yes - use another software :-(

I had this error, too when I still worked with Blender, and I found no way to fix it. Neither flipping the normals in Blender nor changing the exporter-settings helped, so, until there is no updated .x-exporter, Blender is not usable for 2.5D I fear.

I think the last version I tried was that for Blender 2.40, but there is one for 2.41/42 now, don't know if that solved the problems?
