As far as I know an adventure-dedicated 3d engine doesn't exist for linux. There are other none 3d available thought like ags, pipmak, fack (really ;)) & lassie.
But for a 3d engine your best bet would be to look for opensource non-adventure specific 3d engines like ogre3D. With those engines you can create a traditional point & click adventure but it will be very difficult if you are not familiar with programming in c++ . (Ankh is using ogre3D)

OK, thank you for your answer. But what about Xaya (xaya.sf.net)? I found it yesterday and on its page is written that it is an 3D adventure game engine. But I didn't try it yet.

i had a quick read at the faq on the wiki pages dedicated to wme and there was something mentioned about how to run wme on linux using WineX, as far as i know the only windoze emulator that supports directX.

Give it a go, it might work since wme adventure games are usually so light that they should hardly require any complicated library unless you are a hardcore programmer.

What would i do with a million dollar? I'd give it to what's left of Black Isle/Interplay and tell them to finish the damn game!!!

Hm... I didn't know about this engine. I learnt something new today  :)
Anyway, as fas as I can see by reading the webpage is that this is a 2d engine. The 3D in the title means that you can use pre-rendered 3d backgrounds (marketing anyone?).
