get the test project :

open "data\scenes\Front\Match3.scene"  in scene editor
Load Actor:
actors\Match3Gem\Match3Gem.act3d

it should be yellow, but it's gray.

That's a nice bug. Workaround: don't use upper-case PNG extension, use lower-case instead (the extension referenced inside the .X file matters, not the actual file extension).
